Questions
HMO landlord FAQs
How much does HMO management cost in Tameside?
Our HMO management fee is 14% of the rent collected, plus £120 for each room we let. No VAT is added and there is no set-up fee. If we fill the rooms, there is a 6 month minimum. See all our fees.
Do I need an HMO licence in Tameside?
A mandatory licence is needed when five or more people from two or more households share a house. Converting a family home into a smaller HMO also needs planning permission under the Article 4 Direction. See our Article 4 guide.
Can you take over an HMO that already has tenants?
Yes. We check the licence, safety records and tenancies first, then take over rent collection, bills and maintenance.
Do you help with HMO licence applications?
Yes, including the floor plans, room sizes and fire safety evidence the council asks for.
Can you convert my house into an HMO?
Yes, through North Point Building Services, once planning permission is in place. See HMO conversions.
