Guide for landlords
Changing letting agent without losing your tenant
You can move your property to a new agent part way through a tenancy. Your tenant stays, their tenancy carries on, and nothing changes for them except who they call.
Can I change letting agent and keep my tenant?
Yes. Changing agent does not end the tenancy. Check your current agent’s terms for the notice period and any fee for a tenant they introduced, give notice in writing, then your new agent takes over the deposit, rent collection, certificates and records. North Point charges nothing to switch and has no let fee for a tenant already in place.

Questions
Switching agent FAQs
Will my tenant have to sign a new tenancy?
No. The tenancy is between you and the tenant, so it carries on. We send the tenant a letter with the new details.
Can I change agent part way through a tenancy?
Yes, as long as you give the notice your current agreement asks for.
What does it cost to switch to North Point?
Nothing. There is no set-up fee for full management and no let fee for a tenant already in place. See our fees.
Do you take over house shares?
Yes. We check the HMO licence, fire safety records and every room’s tenancy first. See HMO management.
